Play On

Play On is back in 2020, and it is open to all teachers across the UK - whether you are registered for the Festival or not!

Play On is a dynamic and enriching CPD training day that you can register for separately from, or in addition to, the Coram Shakespeare Schools Festival.

In previous years Play On has covered a range of subjects, including:

  • Stage Combat
  • Puppetry with Little Angel Theatre
  • Design
  • Physical Theatre

Play On incorporates guest sessions from industry experts and offers the chance to watch a professional director stage a scene.

Play On will be taking place in:

  • London (July)
  • London (Sept)
  • Manchester (Sept)
  • Bristol/Cardiff (tbc) (Sept)
  • Birmingham (Sept)

For Festival teachers it provides an extra day of training:

  • Challenge yourself to push your directing further
  • Bring an extra teacher, and skill up more of your staff
  • Get additional support from industry experts
  • Play On is well-timed to take place in September, just as you are kicking off your rehearsal process in earnest and in need of a burst of inspiration

For other teachers it:

  • Makes Shakespeare accessible for you and your students
  • Brings drama and play into your rehearsal room or classroom
  • Broadens your network
  • Festival schools - How to register

The full day costs just £99+VAT per person for Festival schools and £199 +VAT for non Festival schools, with lunch provided. There is no limit on the number of teachers that can attend from one school.

The workshops will go ahead subject to interest.
